Man and nature – part and whole
Man and nature – part and whole. The problem of man and nature is perhaps one of the most pressing at the moment. In the modern age of technology and information, we forget about our origins, the most important thing - about nature! Nature has become the parent of man, and man, in turn, has become the one who will destroy it. It sounds paradoxical, ironic, sad ... In my essay, I want to consider how a person being a part of nature, destroys the world that makes up nature and man.
The desire of large corporations to earn as much money as possible leads to deforestation. Thus, palm oil extraction is responsible for cutting down tropical forests and threatening many species of orangutans, wildlife and even indigenous tribes. Globally, palm oil production has cut down 0.4% of the forests on our planet, but some regions of Malaysia and Indonesia have already lost 50% of their tropical forests.
Every year we throw away millions of tons of garbage and plastic, which sooner or later will end up in the ocean. According to the forecasts of scientists in the next century or two, such wonders of nature as the Great Barrier Reef will disappear forever. Plastic in the ocean kills rare species of animals, but none of us think about it, throwing another plastic bottle past the urn.
The resources of our planet are melting before our eyes. Oil, gas, coal are sources of energy that will dry out in the coming centuries. And what happens then? What will we leave to our descendants? Will they be able to enjoy the beauty of nature and the neighborhood with extraordinary flora and fauna?
In his message to «Rukhani Zhangyru», the president of our country set the task to bring the level of alternative energy sources to 30% by 2030. Increasingly, we see plastic bins and paper recycling flash mobs. These all shows our desire to save or nature and planet.
Each of us can blame the other for our nature dying irretrievably. But is it not in our power to reduce the use of plastic, dispose garbage for recycling and clean up in the surrounding areas? I believe we can do it! Remember the words of Ban Ki-Moon: «There is no ‘Plan B’ for action, as there is no ‘Planet B’.»
